The three major branches of Filipino martial arts are Arnis typically from the northern Luzon regions, Eskrima from the central Visayas regions, and Kali from the southern Mindanao regions. Within these branches dwell a long line of masters, families, systems and history. Most Filipino systems will associate with one of these terms and their respective regions of the Philippines.

Mixed Martial Arts

Mixed Martial Arts (or MMA) is currently the fastest growing sport in the world, already ranking as one of the top ten sports around the globe, rubbing shoulders with sports that have been around for centuries despite being around in its current form for only a few years. Obviously, fighting has been sport for hundreds and thousands of years, but its development into a more organised, regulated sport in the West only really started within the last two decades. Its popularity first equalled and now even overshadows that of both wrestling and boxing, and it continues to grow in popularity even today. So what makes MMA so appealing?

Martial Arts Business Management
The word management in a martial arts organisation is generally a foreign word. The reason for this is that the head instruct or master, or chief instructor, whatever the name used, has generally been the role or position in a martial arts organisation who ‘manages’ things. We know today that the modern martial arts business, or martial business as we refer to it as, does not operate this way.
